Its main objective is to provide higher education opportunities for individuals in the Bexar County community and its surrounding areas.

Alamo Colleges District and Palo Alto College ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Southside Education and Training Center (SETC). The nearly 49,000-square-foot facility will serve as the home for Palo Alto College’s new nursing program, the Ready to Work initiative, and more. Built on land provided by Southside Independent School District, it is also part of the Alamo Colleges education & training centers, designed to increase access to higher education services for residents of underserved sectors of Bexar County.

Westside Education and Training Center (WETC), located in Westside San Antonio, in the heart of the Edgewood community, opened in 2006 to improve the education and skill levels of students and community residents served by bridging the gap between education and high-skill, high-wage jobs through the alignment of education and workforce development efforts to ensure students and residents with opportunities to acquire the advanced education and skills necessary to be competitive in the workforce and to support the region’s targeted driver industries and the availability of trained and ready workforce.

The series introduces viewers to the many faculty members making a difference in our colleges and the community.The Healthcare Administration Program prepares graduates to become effective managers of in-patient and out-patient healthcare facilities. Students learn the problem-solving skills, leadership strategies, and communication techniques vital for successful healthcare managers. The program capstone is an 80-hour practicum where students experience firsthand the varied professional roles of a healthcare administrator.
