NVC Hosts Head Start’s Summer Fun Day

Join Family Service and its Head Start programs on Friday, July 11, for a special 'Head Start 60 Year Celebration Summer Fun Day' at Northwest Vista College (NVC). This free, family-friendly event will mark six decades of the vital Head Start program, offering a day of learning, community engagement, and fun activities for all ages.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in front of Live Oak Hall at Northwest Vista College, families can explore the world of Head Start and discover the comprehensive support it provides. The event will feature engaging games and opportunities to connect with various community partners.

Enrollment support will be available for both Early Head Start (for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years) and Head Start (for children ages 3 to 5 years), making it a convenient opportunity for parents to secure early childhood education for their little ones.

Northwest Vista College staff will also be present to provide information about college programs, fostering a holistic approach to family and educational advancement. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the college’s free childcare program for students enrolled in evening courses at the NVC campus.

Family Service has been a cornerstone of support in the San Antonio community since 1903. With programs spanning 14 counties in South Texas, the organization has consistently adapted its services to meet the evolving needs of its community and address existing service gaps.

The Summer Fun Day celebration underscores Family Service’s enduring commitment to empowering individuals and families, strengthening communities, and ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
